ILP #2 "Design" Digital Storytelling

I created a digital storytelling via powerpoint of the children book "If You Give A Pig A Pancake". Along with illustrations, action buttons are included on each of the slides, so when the presenter is reading the story, he or she can go from slide to slide with the click of a button, similar to turning a page on a computer.

 I created an Infographic about the importance of homework. I see the infographic being used by teachers to educate parents on the importance of ensuring their child does homework. It is designed with lots of color and with bold lettering in order to catch the eye of parents in a classroom. Or, if it were sent home with students, there is not a lot of wording and it would be something parents would more than likely take the time to read. Competence in Microsoft word was required in order to complete this design.

Using any sort of data collection tools, whether that be excel, online surveys, or phone apps could prove useful for any teacher at any grade level. Collecting data on students allows a teacher to evaluate how students are doing in a class, what material they are picking up and what material they don't understand. For example, in a high school math class, conducting weekly quizzes on an online app would provide a teacher with immediate feedback as to whether the students are understanding the material learned recently, which in turn could determine the future curriculum or material the teacher emphasizes in class. Not only this, but some data collection tools, such as educational apps, can provide immediate feedback for the students, which allows them to know what to focus on while studying.
