Adaptive technologies allow teachers to support all different kinds of learners in the classroom. There are many forms of adaptive technology from online personalized learning programs, to cooperative programs like Diigo and Google Docs, to new technology such as 3D pens and smart boards. The development of these adaptive technologies allows students to learn any which way they can best (whether they are kinesthetic, auditory, or visual learners). I have used some adaptive technologies before, as I am sure many people have. The thing is, everyone uses ones that work best for them and they use them in different ways, so although most people have experience with adaptive technology of some type, everyone's experience is a little bit different. So far, twitter has been fun to use. Now that I am following some of my classmates, it is fun to see what everyone else is up to and what they are sharing. However, sometimes I have a hard time remembering to post. I have learned how easy it is to spread information on social networks such as Twitter. I only have 8 followers, but I am always surprised at how quickly people like my posts. I can see how Twitter could be beneficial in getting information out to a large group of people quickly. The one issue I am experiencing is the small word limit. Sometimes I want to share more than I can and I have to pick and choose my words carefully. I found assignment 4 to be more difficult than I had anticipated. This isn't a bad thing, as I learned a lot such as how to embed a calendar and how to organize a website in an aesthetic manner.  I created an Infographic about the importance of homework. I see the infographic being used by teachers to educate parents on the importance of ensuring their child does homework. It is designed with lots of color and with bold lettering in order to catch the eye of parents in a classroom. Or, if it were sent home with students, there is not a lot of wording and it would be something parents would more than likely take the time to read. Competence in Microsoft word was required in order to complete this design.

I found it difficult to find class pages on school websites. At least within my old district, I didn't find pages on websites devoted to specific classes. There were student and parent portals that I imagine contain specific information about classes. Instead, I did find a lot of public information within the site on the demographic of the school and district, the policies of the school, and the administration. I discovered that it was easy to find names and emails for all of the administration staff, but names and emails of teachers were not available on the public site. Because Web 2.0 tools are mores sophisticated and interactive, I would consider many of them useful. For example, blogs, wikis, and youtube, are all tools I have used in the classroom setting before, or am using now in this class, and I find them very helpful. Web 2.0 tools such as twitter and social media are not as vital or hard to teach without in the classroom setting. For example, the podcast explains that teachers may use a blog every day to keep their students up to date, or use youtube to pull up relevant videos or music to a topic the students are learning about. ELA standards should not be so strict that they restrict Web 2.0 tools, which may help to enhance student learning on a day to day basis. Unlike many, I am new to Twitter and still learning how it works. I have found it slightly more confusing than other social media. However, I can see how it could be beneficial for a future teacher. I think it seems like a slightly more professional and safer form of communicating with students than other social media forms such as Facebook or Instagram. So far I have just followed my instructor as well as a few classmates and 4 education related accounts. I will try to make an effort to follow more classmates as more post their twitter name on their blogs. My favorite account that I follow is "@MrDtimes3". I follow him on Instagram as well. He is an elementary school teacher who goes above and beyond to make school, and more specifically his classroom a place where "kids want to be, not where they have to be."
